Organizing Away the Fat
So, you want to get fit & healthy.
You want to eat, feel, & look better. BUT, the excuses are piling up faster than the laundry. The most enduring of them all is the no fail “I don’t have enough time” excuse. Well, I am here to take that excuse right out of your life.
The number one reason people have time constraints is a lack of organization. If there’s no order, then there is chaos. Chaos, in this instance, is something akin to always running late, forgetting appointments, losing important items (keys, documents, cell phones, etc.), etc. Not only are these things frustrating, they are stressful.
Stress, or better still distress, has many negative side effects. These include unhealthy eating, sleeplessness, agitation, memory loss, lack of attentiveness, etc. It is almost impossible to correct or avoid these issues without getting to the root of the problem; lack of organization.
Getting organized is not as difficult as it may appear. Just like getting fit & healthy, it’s not going to happen overnight. It’s best to start small. Start at the front door and look around. Is there a coat closet, dining room buffet, or entryway table? Pick one small area and clean it out. Put things where they belong, throw them out, or donate them immediately. Otherwise, you may end up just shuffling clutter from room to room.
If it helps, set a timer for 15-20 minutes. Even if you aren’t done when the timer goes off, stop! Come back to the same thing tomorrow and work for another 15-20 minutes. This will keep you from getting burnt out and give you time to keep up with all the other things you have to get done. Most importantly, remember that this is a means to an end & a beginning!
The end of chaos, constant distress, & excuses and the beginning of an organized, fit, & healthy new life!
Everyone has the same number of hours in a day.
What are you doing with yours?
